For many consumers and business owners alike, Webcasting is somewhat of anenigma. When properly explained though, its practicality and usefulness become strikingly apparent.

In a nutshell, Webcasting is video over the Internet that can be broadcast live, pre-recorded, or. It can be used by hospitals to broadcast surgeries, schools to broadcast on-line classes, cable companies to broadcast “On Demand” movies, and program networks to broadcast events. In order to broadcast video and audio over the Internet, there are four main stages that it goes through: origination, encoding, distribution, and decoding.

If you decide to do a pre-taped Webcast, we will come to your facility with our equipment and video tape your program. When we’re done with that, we’ll take the tapes back to our high definition studios and edit the content, add effects and titles, and sweeten the audio. What you end up with is a program ready to be Webcast. When you have decided on a time to broadcast, your program is aired. It can also be stored for future viewing also known as “On Demand”.

Live Webcasts are our specialty and are one of the fastest growing methods of delivering audio and video to the consumer. Once the audio and video leave the camera they are converted into MPEG files, a format recognized by the Internet, and sent over your existing *high speed Internet connection to a distribution center. From there it is sent to the end-user or consumer where they will view your Webcast in real time from their desktop computers. Yes, it’s a lot more complicated than that but not for you.
